Why “Brilliant Portugal”?
Portugal’s 16th century—the height of the Age of Discoveries—saw navigators chart new sea routes while artisans back home shaped the Manueline style: exuberant carvings of ropes, armillary spheres, shells, and botanical motifs celebrating maritime triumphs.
Think of landmarks like riverfront watchtowers and cloisters wrapped in sculpted cordage—the perfect backdrop for an expedition about exploration and craft.
